These are National Rate Numbers and can be advertised as such.

  • On an 0844 number you will earn 1.00p per minute from each call you receive during normal business hours.

Companies of all sizes are now using 0844 numbers for lots of reasons, common uses include customer help desks, order lines and advertisement response lines.  If you are issuing an 0844 number your location is totally unknown to the caller.

As with all our non-geographic services, 0844 numbers can be placed on fax machines, DDI ranges, modem banks and any UK fixed landline number

For a 0844 number the caller is charged the BT National Rate and  peak, off-peak, and weekend rates are applicable.
